How it works
Colon Hydrotherapy, also known as colonics or colon irrigation, is a gentle stream of filtered water that cleanses the contents of the large intestine or colon. We use the state-of-the-art open system called the LIBBE. The LIBBE is an FDA, class two medical device that is operated by our Board Certified Colon Hydrotherapist.
The device uses double carbon and UV light filtered water. This water is temperature controlled and includes a bulit in safety feature that will shut off the device if the water goes above the desired temperature. The water that cleanses the large intestine is gentle because the water pressure is gravity fed from the tank, not presurized in any way. This open system is odorless, free from blow outs or messes and maintains the client’s privacy and modesty at all times.
What Can I Expect at my First Session?
When a client arrives for their initial colon hydrotherapy session they will first fill out an intake questionnaire. The client and therapist will review it thrououghly to ensure there are no contraindications and it is safe to proceed. Once that is completed, the client will be acclimated to the room and to the device by the trained therapist. When the therapist leaves the room, the client undresses from the waist down only. They position themselves on the table and using the packet of lubricant and gloves, gently inserts the small, pencil sized nozzel. After the client is on the device and the nozzel is inserted, they pull the sheet up to their waist to maintain modesty. Then, the client rings the bell to alert the therapist that they are ready to begin their session.
The client will be shown how to control the water flow and a timer is set for 45 minutes. During the first 30 minutes of a session the water temperature stays between 99 and 103 and in the last 15 minutes we cool the temperature down to between 96 and 99. The warm water initially helps the colon to relax, expand and break up any stagnant waste in the colon. The colder water helps to contract the colon to finish the session, but also the alternating warm and cool water helps to retone the bowel for long term benefits.
During a session, the client can ring the bell at any time if they need assistance. The therapist is just outside the room at all times for any concerns and will check in a few times to make sure everything is working correctly and then once at the end to go over how to finish up and get off of the device.
What benefits can I expect from colonics?
Many people experience an immediate sense of relief or a “light” feeling after their initial colon hydrotherapy session. Others report improved sleep, reduced brain fog, reduced headaches, and increased energy. Over time, many report healthier, more regular bowel movements on their own and improved GI symptoms.

When you come for your second day, the loosened waste that was softened during your initial session is now easily and quickly eliminiated.

Traditionally, a series of 12 session has been recommended for removing stored waste and re-toning the bowel. This allows for healthy, regular elimination without the need for laxatives, magnesium supplmenets or colonics. This would be done by having the first two back-to-back, the second two the following week and then once a week or as needed for the full 12 sessions.
